The major in Japan is announced! Former FIFA Women's World Cup champion will play


The Japan FootGolf Association announced today that FIFG World Tour Japan Footgolf International Open 2018 will be held at the 14 hill's country club in Gifu Prefecture in Japan from September 7th to 9th. The tournament is categorized as FIFG 1000(The major) for the World Tour 2018 and they organized the major at Karuizawa 72 Golf South in Nagano last year.

The total cash purse for the tournament will be 3,500,000 yen and matches the highest prize for the history of the sport. The organization set the same cash prize for the major last year.

Karina Maruyama who was the member of the Japanese women's national soccer team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 attended the press conference for the major today, and said she will make a debut for the new sport at this tournament. Known as Nadeshiko Japan, the lady's team won the title for that year and was awarded the People's Honor Award for their achievement.
